Another brainless blog post :-)

Ten minutes ago, someone around me said: "I don't give a damn!"

So, does that mean that the person "has/possesses" a lot of damn to "give" away otherwise?? :-) :-P
So, in this case, is the person considered better off when he/she gives a damn or doesn't give a damn?? ;-)

Anyway, who cares? I don't give a damn about it! ;-) :-P

The thought of the day...

  • A person with many colors need not be a chameleon...could even be a rainbow!

Does it really matter?

Slow and steady wins the race.
To begin with....rat is neither slow nor steady. Which means....
No one wins the rat-race.
Even if someone wins...he/she will always be a rat!!!

Duh :-/

The Leshan Giant Buddha

My secret wish has always been to visit as many new places as possible. I came across this on Wikipedia and was amazed by the information.

The picture above is The Leshan Giant Buddha, carved out of a cliff in the city of Leshan, China. It seems that this is the largest carved statue of Buddha. I would like to visit here sometime :-)

Just for fun

Here are some funny answers written by children across the world in their examinations. Found this somewhere on the internet today and thought of sharing it here. Have a look and laugh :-)

Now....that's a naughty duck :-)

Ah....there they are!! :-P

Looks like he knows the human anatomy very well indeed :-P ;-)

I'm sure this kid would have passed if the teacher were religious ;-)

I think I can forgive this kid for this answer :-)

My tummy is paining with so much laughter :-)

This kid should have got at least one mark for getting Hitler right :-)

Yeah...it sure is a lot of fun kid!!! :-)

I'm sure Gerard Butler was mighty pleased with this :-P

A very sympathetic teacher indeed :-)

A stupid is what a stupid does

Have you ever watched this TV commercial advertising a TV by showing two TV's on your TV? I just did and I am really amazed that there are so many of them around!

In that ad, they show a generic TV with bad picture quality/clarity and then the advertised TV with a great picture. If I am able to see the picture clearly in the second example and be amazed by it, it automatically means that my current TV is good. So, why should I buy the advertised TV?

If the TV I'm using at home is bad, then I would not be fascinated by the clarity of the second picture. So, why should I give a damn about buying the advertised TV? The new TV is only as good as the one I already own :-P

Are the advertisers stupid? Or are the audiences stupid? Or am I stupid to have written this post?? (I'm sure many of you would agree on this if not on the other questions!) Or is it stupidity which makes the world go round!!!!??? :-P

Brain on holiday!

It's so much more easier not to blog than to blog!! I am sulking at home on a Saturday evening and I never knew it could be so boring! So here I am with some nutty thoughts of mine written here to keep me occupied for the next hour or so :-)
  • Human beings are usually very lazy. We prefer temporary solutions to everything than the permanent ones. I've known people who call this a "band-aid" solution. Calling it a temporary solution itself is temporary! You know, sometimes these recursive thoughts are truly amazing....think about thinking about it!! Coming back to us humans being lazy....at my friends place, in the washroom, there was a soap box with a big soap (soap was so big that it broke into two but still didn't fit into it completely). Each time someone washed their hands, the smaller piece used to fall on the floor. They came up with a temporary solution....they kept the smaller piece in another soap box instead of going for a permanent solution by getting a bigger soap box!! :-)
  • The automatic traffic signal near my home was down and there was this policeman standing there to regulate the traffic. But the surprise was that he was not regulating the traffic at all (he was busy talking to another policeman!!) and there was this massive traffic jam that was caused. It usually takes less than 2 minutes to cross that signal but today was horrible. The funny thing about most policemen are their moustaches shaped in a variety of ways :-)
  • And the worst part of such brainless blogging is coming up with the title of the post!!!!

Scratchy notes - 2

It is always interesting to observe people when you travel by bus/train/flight or any other means. It is also even more interesting to observe young guys and girls (including myself that is...i'm still young ;-)) at the shopping complexes and malls. Just sit outside and watch people coming in or going out.

Chances are that we will learn a lot. Just the way some people speak, what they wear, their expressions, the way they talk to others, the way they treat others can tell us a lot about their character. It is very fascinating to observe how different one person is from the other. Even the smallest of gestures like the facial expression or the eye movement or the sitting posture reveals a lot.

Sometimes it so happens that an overtly expressive person is in all likelihood short of confidence. A beautiful lady in the midst of ordinary looking crowd might have obviously changed things (read surgery, fake; of course not all women are fake!) to a great extent. Some guys or girls steal quick glances at each other when they think the other one isn't looking. Some who pride themselves as being above the rest intellectually, busy themselves in some sort of magazine or newspaper. Some even try to look busy by typing randomly at their mobile phones or just for show-off.

I personally love to be with people who aren't evasive. Lively conversations thrown in with some warmth and a sense of humor make for a day well spent. Probably, the next time we travel or are in a place with a few others, a friendly glance might not be such a bad idea :-)

Scratchy notes - 1

Life just happens. It doesn't happen on our schedule does it? How much ever you plan ahead and prioritize, it does not include things like:

  • You will fall sick tomorrow
  • Your car will breakdown on Wednesday and you will have to get the battery changed
  • Some one will show up suddenly and ask for help
  • etc etc
Life does not call you ahead and let you know that it is going to drop a bomb on you. We can either get mad about it or roll on with it.

And while I was under the impression that these are the times that shape who we are, I have realized however that they reveal who we are!! It will show you what you are made of, what your character is.

Life does not knock.....it lets itself in!

Does "attitude" change everything?

Well...as is evident, the subject of this post is "attitude" and the different "avatars" it comes in :-) My definition of attitude is: a person's way of reacting to something. Is that person straight-forward and blunt or is he/she diplomatic in their approach?

Now, which one is better? A blunt, on your face approach or a diplomatic, sugar-coated attitude? What kind of a person would you prefer to interact with?

I've got mixed responses from friends to whom I've posed this question. But comparatively, many opted for the diplomatic approach. (Is this what everyone wants? To have people talking in ambiguous terms?) A third of the people said that if we take the same old thing and just wrap it in a way people feel pleased, then it would be ideal. (I'd have thought we require more clarity than leave it to our brains to read between the lines!!) Some said, it all depends on whom we are talking to, what kind of an outcome are we expecting and that time and circumstances define our behavior (Striking a balance is easier said than done!). The remaining said its cliched (guess they don't have the guts to accept what they believe).

Irrespective of what I feel personally, I guess it pays well to be blunt with people you love (family & friends) and diplomatic with people you want to love (Now, you don't want to tell your girlfriend she is fat even if its true :-P) and with your bosses ;-)
